Watermelon seeds

regrets
like watermelon seeds
lodged in pink fruit-skin.

enclosed
by soft bruises
easily punctured by a toothpick;
but slides off just as easily.

saved watermelon --
because bruises are stronger.

regrets
like watermelon seeds;

thank them for
the bruises they leave,
the dark pink spots around
watermelon seeds.

I like this, especially because we can swallow our regrets in the same way we swallow watermelon seeds.

You have such a way with words. And wow, lots of inspiration lately? :)

thank you!! you have a GIFT with words. & the gift of gab :D

yup! lots of memories from the leadamerica conference... it felt super funky trying to adjust to my old sleep schedule, sitting in a chair for over 2 hours doing elite homework, and having a computer with internet access! so i wrote poetry to get back on track C:
